Local School Districts
Our area is home to many fine schools where children can obtain an educational foundation. Below are links to schools and school districts which serve Elizabethtown, Hardin County, and the surrounding area in Central Kentucky.
Bardstown City Schools
Bardstown City Schools is home to one high school, one middle school, one K-2 school, one preschool, and other educational services. This system is separate from Nelson County Schools.
Breckinridge County Schools
Breckinridge County is home to one high school, one middle school, and four elementary schools, as well as other sponsored educational resources. This system is separate from Cloverport Independent School District.
Bullitt County Public Schools
Bullitt County is home to three high schools, six middle schools, thirteen elementary schools, and several centers for alternate instruction.
Cloverport Independent School District
Cloverport Independent is home to one high school, one middle school, and one elementary school. This system is separate from Breckinridge County Schools.
Elizabethtown Independent Schools
Elizabethtown Independent Schools is home to one high school, one middle school, two elementary schools, and a range of alternative programs. This district exists independently of Hardin County Schools, and there is a tuition fee for students who do not live in the EIS service district. This system is separate from Hardin County Schools. Additionally, high school students from West Point attend Elizabethtown High School after finishing their K-8 education in the West Point Independent School District.
Grayson County Schools
Grayson County is home to one high school, one middle school, and four elementary schools, as well as a variety of programs and resources to suit specific needs.
Hardin County Schools
Hardin County is home to three high schools, five middle schools, thirteen elementary schools, and many alternative programs. This system is separate from Elizabethtown Independent Schools.
Hart County Schools
Hart County is home to one high school and five K-8 schools, the latter of which have the name of "elementary."
LaRue County Public Schools
LaRue County is home to one high school, one middle school, and two elementary schools, as well as alternative learning opportunities.
Meade County Schools
Meade County is home to one high school, one middle school, and six elementary schools, as well as alternative learning opportunities.
Nelson County Schools
Nelson County is home to two high schools, two middle schools, three elementary schools, two K-8 schools, and several other schools to suit academic needs. This system is separate from Bardstown City Schools.
West Point Independent School District
West Point is home to one K-8 School. High school students attend Elizabethtown High School, which is part of Elizabethtown Independent Schools. These systems are both separate from Hardin County Schools.
